An Educated Guess

The novel is steamy...

Hi there,

Despite the snow and ice, I hope you are well and had a good week. I live in West Yorkshire, and we had five to six inches of snow for two days. Although the snow has almost disappeared outside, the golf course is still covered. Unfortunately, there is no golf for me tomorrow morning, so my wife will have a long list of chores for me to complete. Lucky me!

However, I do have something to be happy about today. The Welsh Rugby team managed a win over Italy, and my favourite football team, Arsenal, won against Fulham. There, my secret is out. Besides playing golf, my two other passions are supporting Arsenal FC and the Welsh Rugby team. You will now probably guess my favourite colour is red.

As I’m typing this blog, Cooper, the dog, is lying next to me with his head an inch from lying on my computer. Is he trying to tell me something, I wonder? Cooper is back for a two-week break. We love his company, and it means we get plenty of exercise from walking him twice a day. Unfortunately, he is going home on Sunday.

Concerning my books, I have had to go back to the drawing board regarding editing. Although book two of the ‘Tom Stevens’ series was finished, my wife and daughter, my fiercest unpaid critics, pointed out issues that needed addressing. I’m so lucky to have them as my beta readers for their advice and eagle eyes for spotting mistakes. The book reads much better for their interventions.

Book 2, called ‘An Educated Guess’, is again in two parts. Part 1 should be published in the Spring, and Part 2 in Autumn. If you haven’t yet found my website, take a look and read the book descriptions and look at the covers. Do they interest you or intrigue you? Let me know your opinion.

The three-book series takes place in a special school and follows the journey of Tom Stevens, deputy headteacher. The opportunity of headship arises, which would be the pinnacle of his career. However, he faces serious challenges, and the stakes are high. The novel is a steamy, contemporary love/suspense story with many twists and turns that will keep the reader turning the pages. Take a look now.

Until next time, happy reading,

Mansel
