I’m determined to change...
Happy New Year...
The beginning of a new year is a time to reflect on the past year, consider the present and look beyond to the future. Do you do this? I don’t, but I’m determined to change and have good reason to.
Last year, after many years of a roller coaster of emotions writing my first book of fiction, I self-published the finished article with help from family members. It was one of the proudest moments of my life to press that all-important button on my laptop, ‘publish’. A few days later, I was holding that book in my hand. It was a great sense of achievement.
The book may not be a best-seller, but to me, it was a life- changing moment because it encouraged me to continue writing. By the end of the year, two additional books were published. I am now about to start another.
On reflection, the one thing I have learnt is to plan and set both short and long-term goals. It makes writing a lot easier.
Changing the subject, did you celebrate New Year’s Eve? We hosted a fancy-dress party for the family, played silly games and held a quiz, all of which was great fun. Traditionally, at midnight, we all clinked glasses and wished each a happy new year.
I wish you all the same. Whatever your goals for 2023, make them achievable, be proactive, and you are halfway there.
Good luck.
Happy reading,
Mansel
